Hi Mustangs! My name is Mrs. Coleman. This is my second year at EE but it's my first year as a teacher! I am excited to be a Mustang again in the best grade level ever!
I was born in Columbia, TN, a small town south of Nashville known for being the Mule Capital of the World. My family moved to the suburbs Fort Worth, TX when I was 6 years old. I attended L. D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX where I was a proud member of the Blue Raider Band. I don’t play flute anymore, but I still love band competitions!
I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Deaf Education. After graduation I began working in Methodist Churches in Fort Worth as a youth minister. I also worked a second job at the PetSmart PetsHotel, which is where I met my husband, James. We were married in March of 2013 and have two fur-babies, Belle and Poppy. After James took a job with Austin Travis County EMS in 2014, we were finally able to move to our favorite city in the world! In 2016 I transitioned from serving in the church to serving teachers at Eanes Elementary. It is at Eanes that I have found my true passion and home in the classroom and I am so excited to share that joy with each one of you!
When I'm not at school you can usually find me spending time with my husband and friends, reading, listening to live music, making crafts of all kinds, traveling, or hiking the Greenbelt with my dogs. I love getting outside and exploring this amazing city, having coffee and brunch with friends, and eating pizza as often as possible.
I am thrilled to get to know you and be able to spend this year with you and your family! It is going to be a fun year full of learning and adventure!
